Blind College Student Ordered To Leave Bakery Because Of Her Guide Dog

IMG_0693CLEVELAND (CBS Cleveland) – Gabriella Drago, 19, says what happened at an Ohio bakery left her with a bad taste in her mouth.
The blind Baldwin Wallace college student and a friend went to Dick’s Bakery in Berea for some donuts.  She says a worker immediately took exception to her seeing-eye dog, Freesia.  Gabriella Drago says she tried to explain that service animals are legally allowed in stores.

“I walked in and they said that there were no dogs,” Drago told WOIO-TV. “So I explained to the woman that Freesia was a servicedog. So she was allowed in there. She said no, this is a bakery, you cannot have your dog.”

  1. Sorry to read this what happen to you all. Unfortunately too often employees and owners have no clue understanding of the ada laws for sd gd. Many occasions in jewish kosher establishments I am asked to leave because of my sd. I try to educate the staff when that does not work I say call doj.
